About the Tool

ABA Supervision Simplified

The Supervision Milestone Task Analysis Assessment and Monitoring Tool was created to assist supervisors and supervisees in the development and implementation of supervised fieldwork that is truly behavior analytic. As such, the supervised fieldwork experience and its oversight must adhere to the description proposed by Baer, Wolf, and Risley in their 1968 article “Some Current Dimensions of Applied Behavior Analysis”.
This tool was designed for supervisors to guide supervisees in meeting mastery criteria to become an effective, ethical and competent Behavior Analyst, as is similar to other curriculum-based assessment tools. This project was in development for 4 years with input from many BCBAs® across the world.

Function 1

Facilitates initial assessment of Supervisee on current skills and level of mastery across Task List items and sub-domains

Function 2

Allows ongoing assessment and monitoring of skill deficits to individualize supervision to the supervisee’s current needs

Function 3

Calculates scoring automatically to assist the Supervisor to focus on individualized skill developmen

Function 4

Provides suggested homework and practical examples for a Supervisee to complete

Function 5

Secures and stores completed detailed records of each Supervisee in one-place (i.e. restricted vs unrestricted and assessment method used as outlined by the Task List)

We believe that understanding of the science of behavior has the potential to maximize the benefits of teaching in all situations, including the supervised fieldwork experience.

What makes this different?

In other words, the supervision process is a behavior change program and as such it is a behavior change program, just as the supervisee will be taught to design and implement for clients. In the ABA Supervision Task List Assessment and Monitoring Tool we have provided a system which allows you to track the progress of supervisees and ensure that the supervision process addresses all areas of the Fourth Edition Task List® (Task List) as well as the Professional and Ethical Compliance Code® (PECC).

What Makes This Different?
The Purpose Of ABA Supervision
Supervised Fieldwork experience toward the Board Certified Behavior Analyst ® credential is intended to build the skills of the supervisee.

The purpose of ABA Supervision

The Supervision Task List Assessment and Monitoring Tool was created to assist supervisors and supervisees in the development and implementation of supervised fieldwork that is truly behavior analytic. As such, the supervised fieldwork experience and its oversight must adhere to the description proposed by Baer, Wolf, and Risley in their 1968 article “Some Current Dimensions of Applied Behavior Analysis”. Although this article refers to research in the area of behavior analysis, these dimensions can apply equally to behavior change programs, including one designed to teach the skills necessary for a competent behavior analyst.

Track Progress

By using this system, you will be able to track specific behavior analytic skill sets of your supervisee. These have been identified by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board ® as necessary for behavior analysts, making them applied.
This assessment suggests supplementary materials for use in supervision activities to promote practice in the necessary skill sets, adding technological elements as well.

This tool is designed to remove repetitive work like typing your supervisee’s name a dozen times, color coding and hand scoring! You can also use this resource for multiple supervisees, allowing you to monitor progress for each of them at a glance.

Curriculum Based Assessment Structure

Over the years it was analyzed by supervisors in which a supervisee is most successful when they have mastered terminology (fluency) first before mastering contextual, applied, and/or experiential behavioral analysis.

Community-based program designed to support families on waitlist

Being an RBT for me was extremely fun because where were you going to find a place where you can be completely silly without having to worry what people thought about you? This was the only job that made me feel like I could make a dramatic difference while being myself.

I also liked to be surrounded by people that had the same goals of wanting to help kids and the teamwork made the job much easier and more enjoyable.

Change and progress was the ultimate goal for our kiddos. The early intervention program was seriously only a miracle because I saw changes in the kiddos that from day one, you wouldn’t even recognize who they were.

Changes from being able to utter 3-4 words where they can only make a syllable from when they started, the behavior decreases in which kiddo that used to engage in 30-40 0 self-harm to only half, learning how to wait during games, table work where they use to swipe and drop to the floor if they had to.

My favorite was when the parents would tell us what amazing progress they were making at home. I used to tear up and felt for these parents so much because it was already difficult for them and now, they can trust and rely on ABA and the therapists knowing their goal was ours.
