Frequently Asked Questions - ABA Training & Autism Resources

How much time do I have between each session?

After you pass a post test, you should be able to move to the next session right away.   Our system does have an automatic delay timer that will prevent anyone from going through the session too quickly. The amount of time allotted for each session depends on the length of the video/webcast for each session.

Can I skip the tests and proceed directly to the webcasts?

The tests are an important part of the learning process and each participant is required to complete them for each session before they can move forward to the next session.  The pretest must be completed before you can view the corresponding session’s webcast.  As soon as you complete the pre-test, you will be redirected to the webcast viewing page.

Where Can I Download The e-Books and Guided Notes?

The download links for the e-books and the guide notes can be found on the Customer Courses page on your user dashboard. The guide notes for each session can be downloaded as soon as you unlock a session by passing the post test of the previous session. Detailed info on your test results can be viewed from the same page by clicking the blue arrow down button to the right of the page.

I would like to start the course at a later date. Is this possible? How do I reset my course start date?

Yes, you may set a different start date as long as you have not completed the first session yet. We always have our client’s best interest in mind, and we do provide exceptions in certain cases. You can set the start date after you enter your access code and fill in the course registration form (you will see a calendar pop-up). You will only have the option to reset the start date once. In case you’re not able to reset the date anymore, just let us know when your preferred start date is and we will update your subscription for you.   Note that for single registrants, we allow up to 3 months for a registrant to delay the start date for the course – counted from the date of purchase.

How to Access Your Special-Learning Account?

After creating your Special Learning account, you will receive a system generated email to activate your account. You will have to confirm and activate your user account in order to login or reset your password. You can do this by clicking the account activation link indicated in the email.  If you don’t see the email in your primary inbox, try checking your spam folder. If for some reason you did not receive the auto generated email/s, kindly email us at contact@special-learning.com with the subject line “Activate Account / Resend Access Code”

When is the right time to begin physical therapy?

Physical therapy can be performed in children as young as one year old. Some therapists recommend beginning therapy as soon as a developmental motor skill delay is noticed in the child. The earlier a therapy regimen is started, the better progress the child will make.

Community-based program designed to support families on waitlist

Being an RBT for me was extremely fun because where were you going to find a place where you can be completely silly without having to worry what people thought about you? This was the only job that made me feel like I could make a dramatic difference while being myself.

I also liked to be surrounded by people that had the same goals of wanting to help kids and the teamwork made the job much easier and more enjoyable.

Change and progress was the ultimate goal for our kiddos. The early intervention program was seriously only a miracle because I saw changes in the kiddos that from day one, you wouldn’t even recognize who they were.

Changes from being able to utter 3-4 words where they can only make a syllable from when they started, the behavior decreases in which kiddo that used to engage in 30-40 0 self-harm to only half, learning how to wait during games, table work where they use to swipe and drop to the floor if they had to.

My favorite was when the parents would tell us what amazing progress they were making at home. I used to tear up and felt for these parents so much because it was already difficult for them and now, they can trust and rely on ABA and the therapists knowing their goal was ours.
