Ability to Contribute: Jacquelyn Moreno’s passion lies in the neuropsychology of autism and its impact on children and their families.
Bio: As an author and advocate working in homes and schools, as well as the Regional Center system, she brings awareness of political and health-related issues to the larger Pasadena and Los Angeles communities. She works as a Senior BCBA at Autism Learning Partners, and have co-founded a statewide advocacy and support group for Siblings of brothers and sisters with disabilities. After receiving my Bachelor’s degrees in Neuroscience and Psychology from the University of Southern California, she graduated with a Master’s in Human Development from Pacific Oaks College. Her thesis centered on the descriptive nature of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders and the effects of recent changes in diagnostic criteria on children with ASD. Her autobiographical work on growing up with a sister with autism was published in early April, 2015. She is currently working toward her Ph.D. in Psychology with a Behavior Analysis Specialization at The Chicago School of Professional Psychology here in Los Angeles. Her thesis work is under Dr. Henry Schlinger, and centers on social and behavioral issues of menstrual care in populations with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities.
