Our commitment

Special Learning is committed to making our website and digital content accessible to everyone, including people with disabilities. Accessibility is part of our mission to support the autism and neurodiversity community — families, caregivers, educators, and professionals alike.

Conformance target

We are working toward conformance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA. These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible to people with a wide range of disabilities. At this time, special-learning.com is partially conformant with WCAG 2.1 AA: most of the site meets the standard, and we are actively remediating the areas that do not yet meet it.

Known limitations and remediation

We are aware of the following areas where the experience may fall short of WCAG 2.1 AA, and we are working to fix them:

• Color contrast. Some text and interface elements do not yet meet the AA contrast ratio. Remediation in progress — current sprint.
• Keyboard navigation. “Skip to main content” links and full keyboard focus handling are being added across the site. Remediation in progress — current sprint.
• Video captions. Our training and webinar video library is being captioned progressively; not all videos have captions or transcripts yet. Ongoing — captions added on a rolling basis.
• Third-party and embedded content. Some embedded tools (for example, the storefront and checkout) are provided by third parties, and we cannot fully control their accessibility. We choose accessible providers where we can and raise issues with vendors.
