Special Learning, Inc., a comprehensive autism solutions company, today announced its collaboration with Autism Training Solutions (ATS), a leader in evidence-based eLearning and training solutions. By leveraging the combined expertise of Special Learning and ATS, they will develop best-of-breed evidence-based technology products and solutions, including eBooks, web tools, and mobile apps in the area of Autism and Applied Behavior Analysis.

Autism is quickly becoming one of the most prevalent disorders affecting children. As recently as 2001, the National Institute of Health estimated that 1 in 250 children were affected by Autism. But according to Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Autism has increased to an alarming rate of 1 in 110. Various researches estimate growth of 10 to 17% annually, which means autism is reaching epidemic proportions, leaving the market with an acute shortage of qualified therapists that are essential in the application of the right and timely interventions. Special Learning, along with its strategic partners, develops ABA products and solutions that allow parents to easily and intuitively participate in delivering ABA interventions in partnership with their behavior analysts and other experts.

Planned products include comprehensive ABA eLearning Curriculum that incorporates online training videos with embedded curriculum to teach parents, providers, and educators to accurately and effectively teach new skills using proper application of ABA principles.

Special Learning and ATS are very excited about this collaboration and look forward to developing and releasing products and solutions that positively impact the autism community.

Being an RBT for me was extremely fun because where were you going to find a place where you can be completely silly without having to worry what people thought about you? This was the only job that made me feel like I could make a dramatic difference while being myself.

I also liked to be surrounded by people that had the same goals of wanting to help kids and the teamwork made the job much easier and more enjoyable.

Change and progress was the ultimate goal for our kiddos. The early intervention program was seriously only a miracle because I saw changes in the kiddos that from day one, you wouldn’t even recognize who they were.

Changes from being able to utter 3-4 words where they can only make a syllable from when they started, the behavior decreases in which kiddo that used to engage in 30-40 0 self-harm to only half, learning how to wait during games, table work where they use to swipe and drop to the floor if they had to.

My favorite was when the parents would tell us what amazing progress they were making at home. I used to tear up and felt for these parents so much because it was already difficult for them and now, they can trust and rely on ABA and the therapists knowing their goal was ours.
