BACB Certification Requirements (All BCBAs in Washington D.C.)
Regardless of state, your BACB certification renews on a 2-year cycle.

|---|---|---|---|---|

| BCaBA | 2 years | 20 CEUs | 4 CEUs minimum | — |
Starting July 1, 2026: BACB requires participation monitoring — a minimum of 3 knowledge questions per CEU. This is not a video or format mandate: article-and-quiz, journal clubs, and podcasts remain BACB-eligible.
State Licensure: Washington D.C.
State-specific requirements: Special Learning has withdrawn this page’s statement about behavior-analyst licensure in Washington D.C., effective 18 August 2026. The statement we previously published here was not sourced to a primary authority — a statute, a regulation, or the state board itself — so we are not asserting anything in either direction about whether Washington D.C. licenses behavior analysts. Confirm your status with the Washington D.C. licensing authority before you rely on any continuing education for a state renewal. This does not change your BACB certification requirements, which are shown above and apply wherever you practice.
