BACB Certification Requirements (All BCBAs in Puerto Rico)

Regardless of location, your BACB certification renews on a 2-year cycle.

Starting July 1, 2026: All CE must be interactive video with assessment (minimum 3 questions per CEU). Article-and-quiz formats are no longer BACB-eligible.

State Licensure: Puerto Rico

Puerto Rico does not currently have a separate Licensed Behavior Analyst (LBA) credential at the territorial level. Your BACB certification is the primary credential for practicing behavior analysis in Puerto Rico.

BACB CE requirements apply. No additional Puerto Rico-specific CE layer has been identified as of the last verified date.

Note: Puerto Rico is a US territory — BACB certification and ACE-approved CE apply the same as in US states. Practitioners in Puerto Rico should verify any employer-specific or payer-specific CE requirements with their licensing or credentialing bodies directly.
