Connecticut ABA staff requirements, with sources
This page is for people who run an ABA team in Connecticut. It lists the training, supervision and credential rules for behavior technicians and analysts that we found at a state source. Each rule shows the law or policy it comes from and the date we last checked Connecticut. Where we couldn't confirm a rule, we say so instead of guessing.
This version covers U.S. states. If you're outside the U.S., email contact@special-learning.com with your country and we'll tell you when yours is ready.

What the state requires
Behavior Technicians in the CT BHP/HUSKY Medicaid ASD provider network may qualify through five alternative routes: BCaBA + 6 months FTE ASD experience; RBT + 6 months FTE; bachelor's degree in a related field + 6 months FTE; associate's degree (or equivalent credits) in a related field + 6 months FTE; or high-school diploma + RBT.
For routes where the individual's degree is unrelated or they lack ASD experience, the RBT credential should be obtained; if not already obtained, the 40-hour training must be completed within 180 days of employment and the RBT Initial Competency Assessment must be passed within one year.

All Behavior Technicians, regardless of education level or certification, must complete six hours of training in ASD services during each year of employment, documented in the employee record; this may include in-house training and may overlap with continuing education required for maintaining any applicable license, certification, or credential.
