Hawaii ABA staff requirements, with sources
This page is for people who run an ABA team in Hawaii. It lists the training, supervision and credential rules for behavior technicians and analysts that we found at a state source. Each rule shows the law or policy it comes from and the date we last checked Hawaii. Where we couldn't confirm a rule, we say so instead of guessing.
This version covers U.S. states. If you're outside the U.S., email contact@special-learning.com with your country and we'll tell you when yours is ready.

What the state requires
QI health plans and state agencies must ensure that providers practicing as BCBA-D, BCBA, BCaBA, or RBT have obtained and currently maintain (not merely held at hire) formal BACB credentialing, and that BCaBAs and RBTs work under the supervision of a licensed behavior analyst (BCBA-D or BCBA).

Case supervision generally consists of at least one to two hours for every 10 hours of RBT service hours, with at least one of those two hours being direct; separately, direct supervision must always be provided for at least 5% of all BCaBA and RBT service delivery hours.

Supervision and oversight of unlicensed staff must meet the most current BACB guidelines, and prior authorization requirements for ABA services must be consistent with CASP's Practice Guidelines for Healthcare Funders and Managers.
