Louisiana ABA staff requirements, with sources
This page is for people who run an ABA team in Louisiana. It lists the training, supervision and credential rules for behavior technicians and analysts that we found at a state source. Each rule shows the law or policy it comes from and the date we last checked Louisiana. Where we couldn't confirm a rule, we say so instead of guessing.
This version covers U.S. states. If you're outside the U.S., email contact@special-learning.com with your country and we'll tell you when yours is ready.

What the state requires
Statute: a registered line technician (RLT) must be at least 18 years old and hold a minimum of a high school diploma or its equivalent; the statute itself names no certification requirement (e.g., no RBT) for the RLT tier.
An RLT must be registered with the Louisiana Behavior Analyst Board by his or her supervising licensed behavior analyst; the duty to register and re-register falls on the supervising LBA, not the technician, and registration must be renewed annually by the supervising LBA.
Within fourteen days of applying for registration, the line technician must initiate a criminal background report from the Louisiana Bureau of Criminal Identification and Information.
On the Medicaid side, supervision must be approved on a 2:10 basis -- two hours of supervision for every ten hours of therapy -- and is not approved if the licensed supervising professional is delivering the direct therapy. Org-level caseload caps: a supervising professional should supervise no more than 24 technicians a day, and no more than 10 CaBAs.

What we couldn't confirm, and why
The Louisiana Behavior Analyst Board's own rules may set yearly training topics for technicians and whether they must hold an RBT first. The board's website blocked our access, so we could not confirm either.
This page is general information, not legal advice. Rules change, so confirm with the state before you act on it.
