Michigan ABA staff requirements, with sources
This page is for people who run an ABA team in Michigan. It lists the training, supervision and credential rules for behavior technicians and analysts that we found at a state source. Each rule shows the law or policy it comes from and the date we last checked Michigan. Where we couldn't confirm a rule, we say so instead of guessing.
This version covers U.S. states. If you're outside the U.S., email contact@special-learning.com with your country and we'll tell you when yours is ready.

What the state requires
No license or certification is required for a Behavior Technician (BT). BTs must complete Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) training (the manual's words: "BACB approved"), conducted by a professional experienced in BHT services (BCBA/LBA, BCaBA, and/or QBHP); they don't have to register with the BACB to furnish services. The rule states no specific hour count for this training -- the baseline's '40 hours' figure is the BACB's own historical requirement and is not stated in this Michigan instrument.
Michigan requires minimally one hour of clinical observation and direction for every 10 hours of direct treatment.
