South Dakota ABA staff requirements, with sources
This page is for people who run an ABA team in South Dakota. It lists the training, supervision and credential rules for behavior technicians and analysts that we found at a state source. Each rule shows the law or policy it comes from and the date we last checked South Dakota. Where we couldn't confirm a rule, we say so instead of guessing.
This version covers U.S. states. If you're outside the U.S., email contact@special-learning.com with your country and we'll tell you when yours is ready.

What the state requires
Technician-level ABA services may be provided by a BCaBA or an RBT certified by the BACB, supervised by a licensed and enrolled behavior analyst; BCaBAs and RBTs cannot themselves enroll as South Dakota Medicaid providers.

For ABA delivered via telemedicine specifically, the supervising BCBA must have an in-person face-to-face visit with the patient within the first 30 days and every 90 days thereafter; this is a telemedicine condition, not a general supervision cadence for all ABA services.

Family adaptive behavior treatment guidance (CPT 97156) must include techniques for daily routines and consistency of intervention; training must be extensive and ongoing with regular consultation with the qualified professional -- an unquantified standard, not a stated hour count.
