Public directory records with a recorded location

The ABAEthics directory snapshot contains 11,844 organization records. Select a state or territory to see its count.

These are directory record IDs, not a verified count of active agencies or unique legal companies. A record with locations in more than one state appears in each. The directory may be incomplete.

Autism identification over time

CDC's ADDM Network identified 32.2 per 1,000 eight-year-old children across 16 surveillance sites in 2022. The sites are selected communities, not a national or statewide estimate; sites and methods vary over time. These figures cannot be divided into the directory counts above.

About the data

State counts use distinct public directory organization IDs joined to recorded location states. When no usable two-letter state is recorded, the organization appears under “State not recorded.” Multi-state records occur in each applicable state, so state counts should not be added to obtain a national total. Some records may represent the same organization, and current operating status has not been independently confirmed.

Ownership categories are not shown as market shares: the record's labels need further ownership and identity verification, and parent-owned status is unavailable. CDC ADDM is record-based surveillance of children in selected communities; it is different from parent-reported surveys, special-education counts and claims. Those sources answer different questions.
