Plan protected learning time for a staff team

A planning guide for supervisors coordinating staff schedules.

Use these prompts without including names or private health information about people your staff support.

List learners and coverage

Record roles, approximate number of learners and work patterns. Identify the person responsible for coverage and any local scheduling constraints.

Check access before promising dates

Ask the provider about access length, device requirements and whether the proposed learners can use the course. Confirm the organization’s purchasing and access process.

Make a realistic plan

Reserve time for learning and a supervisor check-in. Record who will arrange coverage, when staff can start and when the manager will review progress. Adjust the plan with staff input.

Discuss your team’s need

Want help thinking through a staff learning need or a possible course? Start a conversation with our team. You can describe roles and goals without sharing client details.
