The ASHA Compliance Form: when it is due and how to submit it

Every ASHA-certified individual submits a Certification Maintenance Compliance Form once their 30 PDHs are done. Here is ASHA's due date and its online steps.

When it is due

ASHA says everyone who holds the CCC "must submit a Certification Maintenance Compliance Form to verify their completion of the certification maintenance requirement." "The Compliance Form is due on or before December 31 of the year your interval is completed; however, you may submit it any time within your 3-year maintenance interval after you have accumulated the required professional development hours (PDHs)." For the 2024–2026 interval, that is December 31, 2026.

Before you submit

ASHA says to submit "Once you have completed all 30 PDHs for your current interval, including professional development requirements for Content Area 1 and Content Area 2". Check ASHA's pages for which content-area requirements apply to your interval.

How to submit online

  • Sign in to ASHA My Account.
  • Under your account number, find the section called "Certification and Supervision" and select your certification maintenance interval link.
  • Select the "Submit My Compliance Form" button "to start the submission process."
  • Read the statements, check "I AGREE," and type your electronic signature. Then select "Submit your Compliance Form" and select "Yes, submit to ASHA" when the pop-up prompts you to confirm.

After submission, ASHA says the confirmation page shows receipt and the dates of your next interval; it also tells you if you have been selected for an audit.

ASHA notes that if you instead see the link "How to Maintain ASHA Certification (Upcoming Interval)", "it means that your interval requirements are complete and there is no further action for you to take."

Certificates and the CE Registry

ASHA says: "There is no need to submit certificates and supporting documents unless you have been selected to participate in the audit." Keep them anyway; see what ASHA says your PDH records must show. ASHA says automatic submission applies if you paid for the CE Registry for each year of your interval and have at least 30 PDHs recorded there. If automatic submission does not apply, submit the form online after completing the requirements. Read ASHA's submission FAQ and check your account.

Plan your hours

Our free ASHA certification maintenance hours planner shows what is left of your 30 PDHs and the two content areas, and has a printable PDH log.

Special Learning is not an ASHA Approved CE Provider, and our courses are not ASHA CEUs. If you choose a recorded course, Compassionate Mandated Reporting Across Disciplines runs 110 minutes and costs $39, paid once; after you pass its quiz, its certificate shows Special Learning as the sponsoring organization, your name, the course title, the dates and the hours. You decide whether its content fits ASHA's Scope of Practice for you. We do not claim it meets Content Area 1 or Content Area 2. Read what ASHA says about courses from other providers.
