What do BCBA CEUs actually cost in 2026? The honest math

BCBAs need 32 CEUs within each two-year recertification cycle, including 4 Ethics CEUs and any required Supervision CEUs. The amount you need to buy depends on the eligible credits you have already earned in this cycle, the categories still missing and the actual offers available.

The calculations below are illustrations, not market-average prices or provider quotes. The $15 rate is an assumed example. The $199 library price is our current listed offer, checked October 20, 2026.

Start with the credits you still need

In the 8-credit illustration, $120 is less than $199. A library is useful only if its content and credit categories fit your remaining needs; a low average cost per offered hour does not establish the lowest cost for your own renewal. Free eligible CE can reduce the amount you need to buy when it is available, but check its actual category, participation and documentation requirements. This guide does not establish that free events currently cover every category you need.

Enter your earned credits and supporting documentation in your BACB portal account. CEUs must be earned within the applicable cycle, and repeating a CE activity does not earn new credit. Do not count unused hours from this cycle toward the next one. Include any actual travel, registration or other costs when comparing an offer; none is estimated here.

Check the library's actual credit mix

The CE Library has 18 recorded trainings offering 32.5 BACB CE hours: 25 General, 4 Ethics and 3.5 Supervision. It costs $199 once for 12 months of access, with a free 7-day trial. Trial access itself does not earn CEUs. Complete the session requirements and pass the quiz for its certificate. The library includes an AI Study Companion and downloadable slides for 17 of the 18 sessions.

For BCBAs who supervised RBTs or BCaBAs on record, or trainees pursuing BCBA or BCaBA certification, during the recertification cycle, the current handbook requires 3 supervision CEUs; BCBAs recertifying on or after January 1, 2027 need 4 supervision CEUs. This library currently has 3.5. If other eligible CE earned in your cycle has not covered the difference, you need another 0.5 supervision CEU. Its price and the cost of any other missing credits must be added to your comparison.

At the listed price, $199 divided by 32.5 offered hours is about $6.12 per offered hour. That average assumes you can use those hours; it is not the price per credit you personally still need or a guarantee that this library completes your renewal. Check the course list and avoid repeating training you have already completed.
