QASP-S renewal checklist: CE, ethics and supervision records

Plan a QASP-S renewal using the QABA board’s requirements and a practical evidence checklist.

Use this checklist to prepare questions and documents for your renewal. Your credentialing board decides eligibility; check your own record and the latest rules before applying.

Your checklist

  1. Check your QABA account for your assigned quarterly deadline. QABA lists a two-year cycle and allows renewal up to 60 days before the deadline.

  2. QABA lists 20 CEUs at the two-year deadline for a QASP-S and a minimum of 2 ethics hours. Confirm the board’s current requirements for your own cycle.

  3. QABA also lists 2 hours in trauma-informed care for a QASP-S’s first renewal. Check your own record before selecting a course.

  4. QABA generally requires supervision for 5% of direct-service time every 30 days, including at least one live one-to-one contact of at least an hour. After 1,000 hours, QABA describes a possible reduction to 2% at the supervisor’s discretion, with at least one live one-to-one contact every 180 days. Confirm the applicable arrangement with your supervisor and the board.

  5. Gather the background check or supervisor/employer attestation, supervised fieldwork verification and CE certificates. QABA says CE certificates must carry the presenter’s printed name and signature. Check your account for the application and current fee.
