BACB Certification Requirements (All BCBAs in Massachusetts)

Starting July 1, 2026: BACB requires participation monitoring. The handbook’s example measure is a minimum of 3 knowledge questions per CEU, or another form of required active responding. This is not a video or format mandate: article-and-quiz, journal clubs, and podcasts remain BACB-eligible.
State Licensure: Massachusetts
State-specific requirements: Licensed Applied Behavior Analyst. Massachusetts sets 30 CE hours per 2-year cycle (262 CMR 7.03), separate from the BACB's 32. Domestic-violence and sexual-violence training is required as a condition of licensure/renewal (262 CMR 7.03); the rule does not fix an hour value — confirm the cadence on the Board renewal page.
Important: CE earned for BACB renewal does not automatically satisfy Massachusetts LBA renewal unless the state board accepts those hours. Always verify with the Massachusetts licensing board before submitting CE for state renewal.
