Does My Training Count?

Answer 4 questions to check if a training activity qualifies as a Professional Development Unit (PDU) for your RBT renewal.

Question 1 of 4
Is the instructor a BCaBA, BCBA, or BCBA-D?
All PDU activities must be facilitated by someone holding one of these three BACB credentials. A co-presenter may assist, but the lead instructor must be credentialed.
Question 2 of 4
Is the training interactive (not just reading or passive viewing)?
Starting July 1, 2026, BACB ACE Provider standards retire the article-and-quiz format. Self-paced (asynchronous) CE must include participation monitoring — at least 3 knowledge-check questions per CEU/PDU. Video with embedded assessments, live workshops with participation, journal clubs, and podcasts can all qualify; passive video and plain article-plus-quiz without these checks do not.
Question 3 of 4
Does the content cover the RBT Task List or BACB Ethics Code?
PDU content must relate to the RBT Task List 2nd Edition or the BACB Ethics Code for Behavior Analysts. General professional development (time management, communication skills) does not qualify unless tied to the task list.
Question 4 of 4
Is the training designated as PD (not CE)?
Continuing Education (CE) is for BCBAs. Professional Development (PD) is for RBTs. They are mutually exclusive. A CE-designated course does not count toward your PDUs, even if the content is relevant.

This training likely counts as a PDU.

Based on your answers, this activity meets the BACB requirements for RBT Professional Development Units. Make sure to keep documentation: date, topic, instructor name and credential, instructional minutes, and the RBT Task List domain it covered.
