What this means for your CEUs

BACB-certified practitioners can apply Type II Learning CEUs earned through Special Learning toward their renewal requirements:

• BCBAs: Toward the 32-CEU two-year recertification cycle, including the 4 ethics CEUs and 3 supervision CEUs (when supervising).
• BCaBAs: Toward the 20-CEU two-year recertification cycle.
• RBTs: Toward the 12 Professional Development Units (PDUs) required for the new two-year RBT recertification cycle starting January 1, 2026.

How to verify Special Learning's ACE Provider status

The BACB maintains a public, searchable registry of all authorized ACE Providers. To verify our status:

1. Go to the BACB Authorized Continuing Education Providers page.
2. Search for either our Provider Number (OP-14-2437) or our organization name (Special Learning, Inc.).
3. The registry displays our authorization status, CE category eligibility, and any sanctions or limitations.

If you ever need our ACE Provider Number for documentation, recordkeeping, or verification by your employer, it is OP-14-2437.

What ACE authorization means

An ACE Provider is an organization that the BACB has authorized to offer continuing education and professional development to BACB certificants. Authorization requires meeting BACB standards for instructor qualifications, course content, knowledge assessment, and recordkeeping.

Beginning July 1, 2026, the BACB's ACE Provider Handbook 2026 adds participation monitoring — at least 3 knowledge-check questions per CEU. Special Learning is a BACB Authorized ACE Provider (OP-14-2437) delivering video-based CE with embedded knowledge checks.

Why this matters when you choose a CEU provider

Not every CE platform offering "BCBA CEUs" is a BACB ACE Provider. Some platforms aggregate content from third parties or rely on legacy approvals that may have lapsed. When you select a provider:

• Confirm the provider's name appears on the official BACB ACE Provider Registry.
• Note their ACE Provider Number — every authorized provider has one.
• Check how long they have been authorized. Tenure is one signal of operational stability.
• Confirm how the provider is addressing the July 1, 2026 participation-monitoring standard.
